A fun Week

Well this week has been so fun--NOT! Monday Diane went home, back on my own. Tuesday Taylor headed off to preschool and I was determined to get the house in order, for some reason that didn't happen. Later after preschool and after Drew woke up from his nap he had a 104 fever. I gave him some Motrin and it helped a little. He was extremely cranky and I had to get ready for the Young Women to come over for that activity that night, it was carnival cooking. We made Carmel popcorn, funnel cake, and a yummy drink made out of hibiscus's flowers. That was fun.
Shortly after Young Women started arriving. I noticed Drew wasn't doing so good, he started to shiver. Mark was on his way home thankfully. When he arrived we all observed that Drew's lips, and hands where purple/blue. And even his cheeks. Mark wanted me to take him in. I was a little stressed I tried to get the activity on it's way by showing what to do and where stuff was. I was in charge of Carmel popcorn. Well I missed up the order of cooking thankfully it still turned out good, and little sugar crytally, but other wise still good.
Mark never came back to the Kitchen with Drew so I went and checked on him. He was doing much better. No longer blue. Totally exhausted though.
The next day was a long day, Drew was extra Cranky and just wanted me to hold him and carry him. After school Michael had a Dental appointment. So all four kids had to sit in the exam room. Thankfully it was quick. Next Michael had a baseball game, and did I mention Mark works a lot later now. That night Drew was still not doing good, his fever got up to 104.9 Mark didn't think he needed to go in. So I gave him Motrin and he went to bed. Well around 10:45 he woke up. He was on fire! I took his temp it started at 102, jumped, 103, 104..Once it his 105 I took it out that was high enough for me. We decided he needed to go in.
So I headed off to the ER.
It looked really busy. They took his stats, and his temp had come down to 103.8 (I had given motrin about a 1/2 hour earlier). They gave him some Tylenol. A little while later we saw a Doctor and she heard he had some chunky sounds in the lower part of his lungs. But she didn't think it was pneumonia. She asked if he had an x-ray and I said no. She was going to have us do that but than for whatever reason decided not too, and said she would treat him with the same treatment plan regardless. So he was put on antibiotics, Motrin and Tylenol. We got home around 1 am so actually we got done pretty quick. he woke up once that night after 1 am.
The next morning He was cranky and Exhausted. But he took a really long nap 9 until 12:30. The girls had Dance that day so I picked them up at school. Talked to Michael's teacher briefly about some name calling that was going on. Michael got called "White Boy" you have to understand he may be one of possible 2 others who are white in his class. Well I knew this was probably brought on by something, sounds like Michael has a bit of a competition at his table, the two boys tend to brag who's better.
Anyway off to dance, and than I needed to go to Home Depot for some Termite spray. yes I have termites. Well I went in for spray came out with a bunch of seeds, tomato plants, and potting soil. What was I thinking? I want to garden but I don't know what I'm doing. Anyway poor Drew was feeling terrible. I lost Savannah for a moment she went off to get a cart (she was getting one of those big ones you put lumber on and stuff.) She was terrified she lost us. thankfully that was all.
After that we went home. Drew's fever was back at 104. I hurried and got the kids some food. mark was gone for the evening. And to top it off Savannah Threw up just before bed. I'm a horrible mom, she was complaing about her stomach I thought she was faking, because she didn't' make a big deal. All this time I was trying to get the kids to do their homework. it was a long evening, I did make rice krispie treats for the kids because they did finally finish everything. They went to be around 9. Thankfully Savannah didn't throw up again.
Friday, Drew had a follow up appointment, we were late of course, and had to wait for about 45 minutes. But they where nice about it. Drew was dong better no fever. The doctor did Say she was surprised they didn't do an x-ray. But he did have decreased breath sounds on the right. But he is still doing better. I have to force the medicine down him, and he still is not himself. He is not happy for very long. I feel so bad. i don't know what is bothering him and all I can do is give him motrin. Sometimes he can hardly walk. Poor baby. I even tried to give him ice cream to help him stop crying he didn't want it.
Well Today is Saturate Drew is asleep the kids are all gone at Michael's baseball game with Mark and I'm enjoying hte peace and quite.
Oh I should mention Michael had another baseball game on Friday and he did awesome, he hit all times he was up, had a double play too. He is quit the ball player!

I'm sorry Drew has been so sick. My kids both had high fevers last week, and it was miserable! If I was home I would take your kids for you.

OH MY GOSH!

What an insane week--poor baby Drew! The part that sounds super freaky is "decreased breath sounds"

Thank goodness neither of my kids have gotten sick at all this year {HUGE knock on wood} I bet I just jinxed myself.
