A Decade of Motherhood

I can hardly believe I've been a mother for a whole Decade. Pretty Crazy. We where very excited to have Michael, of course he was a week late. He was a stubborn little baby, he did not want to come out. We where induced and still after many hours he still didn't' want to come out, we where looking at 24 hours of labor the doctor said, needless to say I was not at all happy with that, but even more unhappy when after 10 hours they had to do an emergency c-section. It's no wonder he didn't want to come out, he was 8 lbs 10 oz and 22 1/4 inches long. My big boy! He made up for being stubborn, he was the best baby anyone could ask for. He started sleeping a good 5 + hours at night at 2 weeks. He was pretty independent while he was a toddler. He has grown so much and is excelling at many things we are so proud of him. We are so blessed to have Michael in our lives.

Happy Birthday Michael

Well Michael turns 10 tomorrow. I can hardley believe it. So this weekend we celebrated his birthday. He was lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa come too. It was a little crazy, but we had fun. A lot of eating out and a lot of waffles. Friday night we went to a big buffet that had chinese food and sushi. IT was actually really good. I was a little worried, but it was good. Sataruday was the designated birthday celebration day. It started with homemade belgium waffles with fresh strawberries and whippeded cream....yum yum.Next Michael wasnted to get a hair cut, ( kind of ) and go shopping so Granmda whisked him off to Super cuts, Target and Kohls. His hair was getting pretty long. The cool thing is he really likes his hair, it's a little shorter but still long yet stylish. Next he wanted to go to the park to do "excersises" so that's what we did. Oh and we found a turtle I'll have to find get a picture of it.
Than he opened presents, he is with his very own Manny Ramirez Rookie card from Uncle Blaine. For dinner we went to Lefty's. Oh so good and low cal, NOT! That's why it's so good. Look at this super stuffed chicago style pizza, it makes you forget we are in San Diego not Chicago.

Now Cake time.
I made an XBox 360 cake. I think it turned out pretty good. I love to have fun cakes for the kids and couldn't think of one (we've done sports themes before, I can't make a Bakugan cake.) then I remember he is a gamer and so I google video game cake ideas.

It was a good day! Happy Birthday Michael.

Good Example

Today we where sitting down for lunch and there was Drew, make is noise to get my attention sound, kneeling on his chair and arms folded.  I asked Drew do you want to say a prayer and he said, Yeah!  He is so good.  He loves to kneel for prayer and fold his arms it's really cute.  He does such a good job.  he is always so proud of himself.  I am too.

Shopping.

So we went shopping on Monday at the Outlets next door to Mexico, serioulsy it is I could throw a rock over the fence. I actually really like these outlets. But it was pouring rain, i mean pouring. And this is all outdoors (since it is san diego.) And not much overhead coverings. WE had to run from one place the next and the amazing thing is I had one umbrella the bad thing is the girls fought the whole time over it. But he we came out with some great deals. It only took me to the very last store to find something, Ann Taylor love that store. OH and we all got shoes minus Drew for a really great deal. Here are some of them.

These boots where only $7.00 how can you pass that up!

And Taylor fell in love with high tops the first ones she wnted where actually a lot more brighter and totally reminded me of something punky brewster would where or rainbow bright. Now if you don't know who those are I"m so sorry!
Don't you love her attitude. But I think her shoes actually fit her fun personolity. Normally I would not want these shoes. Savannah chose boots over high tops.

What do you think of her hair?

Great Lessons at Church

So today at dinner I asked Taylor what she learned at church she said she learned about President Thomas S. Obama. lol Very interesting. She did correct herself, they must of said both in class or something. Just kind of funny.

Another great website..

Are you ever just sitting there blogging, facebooking, emailing etc... and wondering What should I make for dinner. I found this other great site from my friends blog, thanks Nicole, Who ever makes this blog has a bunch of recipes, check it out it's Menu of the Week (just click it). I also have it over on my favorites under recipes.

We'll another week down. Valentines day is over. But we had fun we took the kids out to this great hamburger place, but when you hear hamburger joint you think In and Out or Five Guys, or McDonald's (heaven's forbid). This was more like a Greek take out place. But the burgers where really good. Mark said they were big but i didn't know he ordered me 1/2 lb bacon cheese burger. Hello lets just add 10 lbs. It was really yummy though. Oh but the kids where not so good. Mark and I went home put them to bed and watched Eagle Eye, that's a good movie. Let me correct that last statement we started watching eagle eye, I watched it and Mark slept.

On Valentines day I ran errands Mark headed out to get me a Valentines present and run some errands, He came home with camping gear for me. I joked with him, "so my friends will ask what did you get for valentines, chocolate?," I'll be like, "oh no I got Camping Gear!" and then there will be lots of jealous oooo's and awe's. NOT! :-) He was watching out for me, I don't want to gain anymore weight and I've been wanting a lamp for our dreaded, I mean wonderful, camping trip coming up. Later that night we went to eat at Seau's at the sushi bar I got steak and potatoes. :-) WE had worked out some babysitting exchange with some friends. I had there kids on Thursday. Than we went to the AZTECS basketball game Mark has season tickets. It ended with me walking in the family room after getting to kids to bed to what to my sup rise did I see? A sleeping husband and sports center on. It's all good I was tired and went to read for a little bit.

And today I stayed home from church :( I was going to try and make it too sacrament but Drew is sick, just too winey. thankfully he took a 2 hour nap I watched BYU TV, music and the spoken word, some 80's devotionals and worked on Family history. Now i"m going to make some brownies since I didn't get my chocolate for Valentines.

Oh and thank you for all the helpful Ideas on cleaning, I will try them. Things are better today. not so crabby.

Ugh!

Nice title huh!  Ok so my kids have today off and Monday.  I'm not really ready for that.  So far today I have been trying to get my kids to clean there rooms and do their jobs.  I figure if they do it today they won't have to do it tomorrow when dad is home.  Michael was great, he normally complains but ends up doing it.  But my girls....OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm so frustrated with them.  It's like this any time they are supposed to clean.  First they make a bigger mess.  Then they role play instead of clean.  I get so mad.

I need a vacation!!!!  I wish I could seriously just hop on a plane and got to Utah and see my Brother.  I wish!!!!   No I have to stay and listen to my kids talk back to me.  And trying to keep my temper in check is not working!!!!
(do I have enough exclamation points yet?)
I get so frustrated with my mute daughter!  Taylor just stares at you like she has absolutely no idea what you are saying.  I asked, "you either take a nap or start cleaning, one, two, three!"  She points her foot doesn't say anything, so when I go to put her in bed she says, "I said clean my room."  NO SHE DID NOT!!!!!!!!  It's like that all the time.
Ok, deep breaths, deep breath....Ok now that, that is hopefully out of my system.  Oh wait so my girls love to take food into their room when they are not supposed too.  So on a shirt I find some fuzzy green thing maybe the size of a grape.  But It's not some fuzzy toy no it's a powdery mildewy grape (I think)  It's so gross.
Ok, I'm a little tired and crabby. Sorry.  To top it all off Baseball season started, so that mean two practices a week, until the seasons starts than it will be a practice and two games a week.   And to think I told the coach if he still cant' find a team mom I'll do it.  WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????  I must loved to torture myself.
Ok, time to make lunch!

Mud Pies!

So it's been raining here for the past couple of days, and it's cold, yes I believe it was only 53 degrees outside. My kids are obsessed with mud. Not my boys, my girls. Ugh I'm not a mud loving kind of person myself. Especially when I have to do all the clean up. So imagine my surprise when I walk into the bathroom to a muddy towel and a sink full of muddy water. So I grabbed my camera and headed outside and I was going to let my inner child come out and let my girls enjoy themselves instead of getting mad at the mess in the bathroom. That's a big deal for me, not to make a big scene. So anyway I walked outside and this is what I see. Really they weren't too bad, Saturday was worse, the clothes were covered with mud, Drew got in the fun too on Saturday he was covered.
We also had some friends over from Mark's work who are thinking of applying for oral surgery so I gave them the low down on the that. Anyway Taylor threw a handful of dirt at their son who is two years old and it got him in the mouth, poor boy. That's so embarrassing since this is the first time I've met them.

OH and Savannah said that she and Michael will take this mud pie to Utah for Grandpa!

Mamma Mia

Savannah's been singing "Mamma Mia" like crazy, she loves the music. WE'll we watched the movie and after it was over I was on the phone and she was singing along with the menu song from the DVD. It kept repeating itself. Anyway I tried to capture her, but she got a little shy, she was doing all sorts of hand motions with it before. But it's still cute.

P.S.  if you've read some of my past post I'm just realizing I still don't know how to spell sweat.  I keep spelling sweet!  I know very pathetic.  In fact I'm still not sure which is which.  Help me.  If I think my son is cute and sweat.  Is that the right word?

CATS!!!!

Oh I hate cats!!!! I don't know if you like them or not but right now we have this cat that hangs around our house yowling.  I've decided it's in heat.  Because it so annoying it does it during the day, it freaks my kids out at night.  And it's always close by a window or a door.  Dumb cat I wish i had a be-bee gun.  Although my aim probably wouldn't be that good because I tried throwing a rock the other night at it and I threw it too high hit the cross beam of our covered patio and it bounced back behind me.  Already tonight Michael has come out of his room twice.  We have a cat that cuts through are yard, but this is a different cat I've never seen.  I looked out the our back door and it's sitting under our patio table, just making a bunch of noise.  It will not leave us alone.

Now we have multiple cats and I think they are getting ready to fight.  That's when I think the males show up.  Why our yard, we don't have cats, we have a sweat quite little bunny.  He causes nobody any problems.  I don't think our neighbors can complain about him.  I'm so ready to call the animal control.  Two nights in a row this has to stop.
