Surprise Party 5 months in the making

So for the past 5 months, my sister-law and I had been planning a surprise birthday party for Mark's mom, she turned 60.  I have not been able to blog about it at all because she reads this.  So now it's all over.  And I think it was a huge success.  I had a lot of help, but leading up to it has been very stressful.  And some last minute set backs, like my sister law's flight being canceled and not getting in until just before the party was supposed to start.  Grandma not almost coming because she was sick.  So thankfully it all came together.  And thank you so much to all who helped, and my friend Candi for helping with all the decorating.

So we had a Laua theme.  It was a lot of fun.  Christy made a really fun Jeapordy game about her life.    WE also made a DVD slide show othe past 60 years, so that was a lot of work, scanning old pictures.  We also made a book for her, with the pictures and letters from family members.  She loved it.  It was so fun to have all her kids there, we missed Jeff's wife Jodi.  Also two of her brother's and their wives where there, only one brother couldn't make it.  Also a niece came.  She was really happy.
Everybody waiting for Diane to come out of the bathroom, it took her forever, Finally Brian had to go and tell her to come and see this double flip Michael did on the tramp.
Here's a slide show of the rest of the pictures.  It was also fun Michael had a huge crowd for his baseball game on Saturday.

Taylor looses her first tooth

Taylor lost her first tooth the other day.  She was really excited.  Mark pulled it out for her, it was funny because he was saying "I don't know this tooth is really tiny, I don't know if I can get it..."  Mean while he handed me the tooth, while still acting like he is still trying to pull it out.  She didn't even know.  She was pretty proud of herself, she didn't even cry.  Savannah was in the background just dying, like she was getting the tooth pulled.  So funny.   And of course our great tooth fairy didn't come the first night, but thankfully she came the next.  What's up with our tooth fairy?

New Potatoes

This is what I found under my bag of potatoes in my pantry.  This is one of the potatoes I got from my garden a couple of weeks ago, but can you see those tiny new potatoes growing?  I thought it was kind of interesting.  I guess I don't need a garden, just still some old potatoes under a bag of new ones.

Savannah has learned to cook bacon and now loves to be in charge of cooking it, she takes great care to turn it every so often, she watches it diligently.

A Sad ending...

So about a week ago I posted about some eggs in a nest.  Well I took those pictures on Saturday and than I took these on Monday...
Aren't they so cute?
Well on Tuesday I was in my bathroom and I could hear crows, they where way to loud and I thought, the baby birds, I went outside and saw two crows, one right above the nest sitting there and another watching.  The parents of the babies where going crazy.  Which turns out they where Mockingbirds.  I scared the crows away, and left the chirpping parents.  Well later I went outside and no birds, I checked the nest and no babies.  I was devestated.  I don't think the crows got them, so I wonder if they parents moved them, either way I'm really sad, I was going to watch and document this great moment in nature.  I was so sad.

WE have had a busy week, between speech 3 times a week, Dr. appointments, and school, and baseball I was exhausted by the end of the week.  But I went tot he Dr. and I'm in good health so that's good, I hadn't had a yearly physical in two years, I was over due.  I took Drew and taylor to the Dentist, their teeth look good, but the Dentist gave me something to think about, now he is a pediatric dentist who normally works with special ed kids, so keep that in mind, he told me he thinks Drew is developmentally delayed.  You know I just really thought some of the things he should know didn't show because of his speech, well he is putting in a refferal for me to a developmental pediatrican.  So we'll see.  I don't remember what 3 year olds are supposed to do and that's what he said, compared to other 3 year olds and going through with his own son through this he really thought Drew should be seen.  So in case your wondering why he thought this, Drew is 3 1/2, can't count at all, not 1,2,3 doesn't know his colors, no abc's, and I guess they should have better fine motor skills than him, he can't do any puzzles, so who know's we'll find out.  Drew is not dumb by any means, but I do know he needs help in some areas.  So that made me a little nervous, I just feel like that is one more thing to add to my to do list.

I did take 3 of the 4 kids to sea world on Friday for a couple of hours, Michael had a baseball game.  But I also left early because Savannah was whinning the whole time, I'm not kidding.  I would get her a pretzel, so she threw a fit, My friends can be my whitness.  Candi was kind enough to keep Taylor who was being better, so she got to stay longer.  Savannah was a different child the minute we left sea world though, I think it was just too much for her, school all day and testing all week.  Just too much, she was much better the rest of the evening and really good at Michael's game which they won!  Way to go.  we won't metnion how I completely forgot his game on monday.  He also had a game on Saturday that didn't go as well, the lost by one.  So that was too bad.

Gladys Knight and the Saint Unified Voices Choir

So on Saturday we had some friends who invited us to go to the Gladys Knight and Saints Unified Voices Fireside.  This her way of spreading the gospel.   It's a lot of gospel music mixed with her personal testimony.  It was really fun and nothing I've ever experienced before, not sure what non members will think when they come to one of our regular services.  But it was a neat experience and if you ever get a chance you should go.  Gladys Knight is very funny, and I loved hearing her testimony.   Here's their website Gladys knight and Saints Unified Voices Choir if you want to look into it.

After that Mark and I and our friends went out for dinner we had a sitter for 6 hours, but so worth it, we had a lot of fun.  Thanks Janelle and Jared.    WE went to cheesecake factory so naturally we ate way too much food.  It was a good night out.

Bird Nest

In our entry way there is a bush and in the bush is a birds nest and I was so excited to find out that there are 3 little eggs in it.  Now if I can keep the kids away we may just be able to get picture of the progress of these little eggs.  I managed to get a picture of the eggs.  All while the mother stood watch.  It's so weird how they fly away as soon as someone gets close, so much for protecting their young.
Aren't they just the cutest little eggs, they look like the Robbin eggs you get for Easter.  Now you can barely make out the mom, she is on the fence.  Watching me.
On another note, Savannah how a way of licking her lips that she makes a perfect little half circle below her lip.  It looks like another lip sometimes, she played around with it before we got the picture but you can kind of see what I mean, this is after eating spaghetti.  She's funny.
