Sick...

So I'll spare you the dentals of our gross week, but I you a little about our week.  On monday Michael came home complaning of not feeling well, just really week, he felt a little warm so we skipped soccer.  Tuesday he seemed fine I met a friend at school and barrowed her thermomoter just to make sure he was good.  I chatted with my friend a little who had watched Taylor for me the day before, she mentioned how There little one had been sick witht the runs and actually threw up after nap on Monday.  She also said how she wasn't feeling too good.  I didnt' make any connection at all when the school called me on Tuesday, Drew and I where off to the gym since our walking group was a no show, so the school called I excpected them to tell me Michael was not well, nope it was Taylor who had a tummy ache and said she felt like she would throw up.  HOnestly I didn't believe it at first.  But I soon could tell she didn't feel good.  WE got her home all situated watching cartoons I went out to play with Drew.  Poor Taylor had thrown up on the couch I forgot the bowl.  Duh!  I felt terrible.  So needless to say it was a long Tuesday the poor thing.  The next day she was still lifeless but no throwing up.
So on WEdnesday night I put Drew to bed who earlier had complained his "belly" hurt.  I knew I was coming down with something, when I heard Drew cry, it was terrible it was like someone had dumped a bucket of puke on his head.  He was covered.  I put him in the bath, held my breath and gathered all his bedding and stuffed it in the wash.  I layed a plastic table cloth on my bed, assuming he was going to throw up again, and figured I better be close.  Thankfully it was a one time deal for him, but not too long after I got in bed, did I head for the bathroom and spent the majority of the night there.  It was  long night.
I kept taylor home the next day because she still hadn't ate anything the day before, thankfully she was fine and thanfully she was home to help with Drew because I could not move from the couch the whole day, I couldn't eat, drink ok I lied I had 5 soda crackers and 2 graham crackers.  My body hurt from all the pain I put it threw the night before.  Mark came to my rescue, and fixed me all up.  He got the kids dinner I managed to eat a little and went to bed and slept soooo good.  I couldn't believe how exhausted I was.  No one came into my room which is unuasual, and Mark slept on the couch hoping to not catch what we have.
Today I am still exhausted, but I am able to eat, and drink.  My tummy is still a little funny.  But I am super stuffy which I don't understand at all.  What a week, I'm crossing my fingers that we all stay healthy now, and 3 others dont' get sick.  It was the pits.  And from the sounds of it, my friend and I aren't the only families getting hit.  Good luck to you all I hope it misses you!

I guess if you read this whole thing I didnt' spare you the details, sorry.

Just Thinking..

So one thing I forgot to mention was that we had our primary program on Sunday, and Savannah had a duet song.  Let me start by saying Savannah has a big case of stage fright, it's a hard thing for her to give talks in primary let alone sing a song in Sacrament.  I was acutally a little upset with the primary and kind of voiced that with my friend (who  is in the Presidency.)  I was worried savannah would get embarraced, let me just say I'm glad I didnt' hold her back.  She did a great job, did she look up at all no, but she didn't cry, and she song the song acapella!  This was a huge milestone for her and I was very proud of her, it brought me to tears to see this huge accomplishment for her.

How do I blog so much?? I'm sure some peopel wonder, well this is my lifes recordings really, for those who read my blog know that I ramble alot.  And if I don't record my thoughts somewhere than they will never happen.  I'ts my journal.  It's how I record all my  kids events, I just can't seem to get them all in their baby books.  I plan on printing this as well.

Next...
I hate having sick children but of all my kids when they are sick Taylor is the easiest.  She is so quiet, you forget she is their, even though she is throwing up, it's so quiet.  The poor thing came home sick, (of course I was a little leary at first.)  But I soon saw she did not feel well at all.  So I got her a drink, some crackers, and put on cartoons.  Drew was begging me to play baseball so I went out side and played when  little bit later, Taylor is calling for me, I forgot the bowl.  I felt so bad.  I meant to get one too.  She thew up all over the couch I found her in the kitchen huddled over the garbage can.  Needless to say I have cleaned off the couch a few times today, it just would surpise her I think.  Finally after 9 hours of throwing up I think she is done.  She is totally wiped out.  Poor thing.  She has no demands, but water.  I hope she is feeling better by tomorrow.

And I'm sorry I can't find the spell check button on this new format.

Carving Pumpkins

So Last night we decided to carve our pumpkins.  I was very happy that I didn't have to buy any pumpkins this year.  These are all from my garden.  I had more but this is all that lasted.  I planted too early and these where ready in July.  But they worked out great.  Poor Savannah dropped heres the other day when bring it up from the garden and it split, but it still worked.

The Kids all designed their own pumpkins.  Except for Drew.  I did his but he ended up making him toothless when I wasn't looking.  They did a great job, I helped the girls a little but it was still all their own design.

A Rock + A clean out = $1200.00

So Saturday our toilet started to back up, so we plunged and plunged, only to have water over flow into our shower and bathtub.  Pretty gross.  So we called a plummer and he came a "snaked" the washout after he vacummed up a ton of wood chips that had been thrown down the clean out.  What's a clean out?  See below.  (I didn't get a picture on it before we put the new cover on it.)  Ours had a lid that wouldn't stay on, so we believe the kids put stuff down it.  This is where the water is supposed to go if you have a clogged pipe somewhere and used to clean out the clogs.  On newer houses I think they are on the roof.  Since our house is super old it in the front of our house about 10 feet from the front door.

So wood chips got vacumed out and the guy suposdely snaked the drain.  He sat and talked to me forever all about his life and I was trying to rush off to Michael's Soccer game.  I had the snakes for half time and this guy would not stop!  So I paid him $175, and I thought that was bad.  We go to the soccer game and not too long after we get home the drain is over flowing (the one you see above) all sorts of things are coming out.  I get a flashlight and do the unthinkable (you don't want to know what was down there) started to pull the stuff out, and found a rock!  But the bad news was I couldn't get it, I got two wood chips loose and lost the rock.  I was pretty mad, especially since the first guy didn't seem to do anything.  I clear it enough that water seems to be going buy.
Well Sunday morning we wake up to a flooded walk way (well not totally flooder more like a stream of toilet paper and water.)  Ugh!  I left a message for the plummer the night before and facebooked a message and a friend let me know of a plummer.   First we borrowed a snake froms someone.  I stayed home from church because I was sick and after church mark tried to clear it, nothing happened.  So we called our friend and got in touch with her plummer friend who came over around 5:30.  He took a camera and a snake and at first we thought it was a baseball, one of those with that are plastic and have holes?  So he tried to hook it and break it, but it turned out to be a rock.  And it was stuck it would go any further than 30 ft out.

So the next day he brought over some carpet cleaner guys and they tried to vacum it out but it was stuck.  So the we got the bad news we where going to have to dig.  They have a locater to find where the camera ends.  And we knew it was a good size rock.  So this is what they found.   See how big that rock is!  That's a 16 oz water bottle next too it.  Who knew a rock could cost so much.  So when it was all said and done everything cost about $1200.00.  (Note to self be more prepared for financial emergency's.)  Mybee that's not a lot to you but it's a lot to us.

This is the hole with the new pipping put in, see what they had to work with?

What a mess!

Are you from south of the border?

Disneyland

So for Taylor's birthday we went to Disneyland and I kept it a secret from my kids for a few weeks and that's a hard job for me. They where excited, and they had been earning money (for something, since they didn't know what we where doing) so they could buy themselves their own souvenir. That worked out great. We got up at 4:45, left at 5:30, dropped off Drew at a very gracious friends house. We decided it would be better not to take him this time, call me mean, but it was a lot easier. Mark's mom came out to go with me, Mark of course was working. So off we went. I bought some super cheap tickets off of eBay. We had to meet the people at 8:30. Turns out that it only took us 1 1/2 hours to get to Anaheim. We got their at 7:30. So it was a long day! We left the park around 10:30 and drove home around 11 and got home at 12:30 am. Let me say that was the scariest drive ever. I was slapping my face to stay awake, Mark's mom was doing all she could to help me stay awake as well. Honestly it was probably a really bad choice to drive home totally exhausted. It was scary, I'm just thankful we made it home. But we had a lot of fun.
(sorry this is really long.)
The very first ride we went on was space mountain, but right now it’s got a ghost theme because of Halloween, so there is a Galaxy Ghost, it was pretty scary for the kids. It was too fast, too scary for the girls. They where crying when we where done. They hated it. Michael really liked it. So let me just say what a great way to start the day. I don’t know what I was thinking. Needless to say after that Taylor did not like anything that was dark, or had hills. It was nice day, busy but the lines where not bad at all. We did so much. The best part of the day was when we decided to go on haunted mansion, it’s decorated as the Nightmare Before Christmas. Well we stepped into the house and that’s when I lost my little girl Taylor because she was suddenly turned into some crazy women. I’m not even kidding as she began to yell, “Take me out…” “I don’t want to be here.” And such things. Here eyes where large unfocused and crazy/scared looking. NO joke! Finally after some very mean stares from people I took her out, I don’t understand her at all, because she would begin to do this very same thing on Pirates of the Caribbean, The finding nemo and I would have to take to her through the whole thing. That was not fun. But thankfully we did go on several rides she liked. Oh my other kids and Mark’s mom really liked the haunted mansion. It actually wasn’t scary at all once you got past the first room.

Taylor loved the parade they had. It was a dance Celebrate parade. She had so much fun. Right before the parade we met some characters, villains to be exact. She talked to Cruella, no picture, Caption hook, The Queen of Hearts and The Wicked Queen on Snow white. They where really cute with her. The wicked queen was really fun, Taylor curtsied, and so did savannah. She loved that. They asked where snow white was. The queen didn’t like that. Savannah asked who was prettier, and Savannah said snow white and Taylor said you! The Queen, said, “I like you, don’t tell anyone I don’t often say that.” And than Taylor said, “I’ll send snow white in your direction.” The queen really liked that. We where the last people to see them so we lingered. The two people closing the site had a lot of fun with Taylor, see she has a button that says Happy birthday and everyone takes a moment to wish her happy birthday. She loved that attention, and if someone talked to Taylor she would talk and talk. She loved it.
Michael and Savannah had a lot of fun, Michael and I went on Splash mountain because the girls didn’t’ want too. I took them on the tea cups and wished I didn’t, I don’t’ like those at all. But we ended the day with Peter Pan, a classic fun ride. Which made everyone happy. Thanks to Diane, it made things so much easier, and all though I marched us through Disneyland she was a great trooper. She bought us ice cream, and dinner! There where many other melt downs, over ice cream, dinner, and rides but all in all we had a lot of fun. And a lot of great memories!

Taylor dancing in the parade

Aren't they sweet!

YOu can see we are all exhausted, and ready to go home...for a long scary drive at midnight.
