Dinner

So tonight I made quesidillas, and I put a little sour cream on the kids plate to dip them if they wanted. Well Drew was funny, he took a fork full, put it to his face and smelled it, and said, "this smells dis-thusting.!" It was so funny for one I didn't even know he knew what the word disgusting was or how to say it. I was so caught off guard it just made me laugh.

My book Shelves.

So I got this idea from here who got the idea from here. I fell in love with the idea and decided to do it. We'll as long as you have all the right parts it's pretty easy. And I think they turned out pretty good. I wish I had more room to put up more.

Drew's Sayings

So Drew is funny he talks a lot more, but yesterday he was trying to get my attention and he kept saying, "mama, mama.... Mama Mia!"  I was so surprised.  It's so funny.  He's never said that before.  It's his new favorite thing.  Mama Mia, Mama Mia!

I also love when he tells people I said yes, like tonight Mark said told Drew to come as me if he could get in the shower and I said yes.  He ran back and said, "MY MOM SAID YES!"  No she said yes but my mom.  It's just cute how he says it.

He loves his speech group class. i was not looking forward to another thing, but he loves it.  He told me, "I like my teacher, mom."  They where working on colors by using the BRown Bear what do you see?  Book.  So they asked if they had a favorite animal and Drew said, "Whales" and went on talking about wily whale (from free willy.) but they didn't know what he was talking about.  It was really cute.  he kept going on a talking all about whales.  He is so sweet.

12 Years

Mark and I have been married for 12 years, this a few of things that have happened in twelve years:
10 years of schooling (with more to come)

4 beautiful kids

6 different homes

3 different states we have lived in

1 lost wedding ring

5 lost diamonds (don't worry not the main one)

Lot's of happiness and fun experiences. And I think as I look back on pictures that my husband just get hotter with age! I thought he was hot before but he is even hotter now! Mark and I went out to dinner at PF Changs it was pretty good. I've never been there before. We tried to go to a movie but we had a hour wait for dinner. WE got done at 8:10 and the movie started at 7:50. Oh well just means we'll have to go out again right?

I can't believe we have been married 12 years. I have a 10 almost 11 year old son. I'm not that old right? But I've done a lot of growing up in 12 years but I'm sure I can do more.

I love Mark and so blessed to have him in my life. Happy Anniversary Mark, I love you!

Something on my Mind

So I've had something on my mind for the past couple of weeks.  And I want to share.  It goes back to my accident.  I seem to think about it way to much.  But the other day I was driving and for a second I thought I saw something in the road (it was raining pretty good) so my body immediately got ready for impact and I had a mini flashback to hitting the tree.  Have you ever been in any kind of accident where you got hurt?  It does something to you.  It really affected me.  Of course I didnt' hit anything in the street but my body still reacted.  it was weird.  After that I just started thinking how fortunate Drew and I are.  I've decided it's nothing short of a miracle and a watchful hand that Drew is not seriously hurt.  I've watched the video several times and still don't understand how Drew did not get hurt at all, no mark, nothing.

Mark had a thought that Drew's arm went on the other side of the tree which would cause him to be flung around the tree like he was.  But what I don't understand is than why did he not have some kind of bruise under his arm or even on his side.  The truth is I can't explain it.  You may say, oh your just lucky stop over thinking it.  But no!  It was a miracle and I feel truelly blessed to still have a healthy little 3 year old and full function of my body, even if it is in some pain.  I could of been worse off.

So may I ask do you believe in miracles?  And Our Heavenly Father's watchful had?  Sometimes it seems to come when you least expect it.  But their is no doubt that his watchful hand was there that day, moving my son out of the way of harms way!  We are truelly blessed.

I just need to write that down.

Snowboarding and a Jazz game.

Mark, Michael and Grandma went snowboarding/skiing.  Michael had a lot of fun but said his left butt check was soar.  It was a beautiful day as you can see up at Solitude.
Mark and Taylor just goofing off.
The final event for Michael was a Jazz game.  I think he had fun, even though the game was a blowout.
So while the boys where doing this the girls, built Ginger Bread houses.

A visit with a Friend

My best friend came by to visit.  We have been friends since birth.  But it's been a while since we saw each other.   At least a couple of years, (right Stacy?)  We had a great visit and my girls had a blast with her girls.  See most our kids are the same grade or age.  So that makes it fun.

We took a final picture of my bruises.  I have to say it was darker than this the day before.  And now two weeks later there is hardly anything on my side left.

Some final Pictures from Utah.

Sledding this is the first time sledding a few days before any accidents.
Drew is Made because someone is using the tube, he did not want to share.
New Years Eve

Taylor did not make it until Midnight.
Drew wasn't sure he wanted to go outside with all the noise.
you can see some of his rash on his face, this is the night he broke out in hives all over his body and it didn't go away for about 4 days.  He lived on Benadryl.
Oops!!!!
Look close and you'll see Savannah got trapped!  She was searcing for a ball in a closet and found this instead.  Yuck!

Boondocks
While Michael and Mark where snowboarding My parents and I took the girls to boondocks.  They had so much fun.  WE need to work on their bowling a little.  :-) Mark's dad Took Drew for us, which made it so much easier.

Taylor's method was to swing the ball back and forth than throw it.  I'm a amazed she didn't throw it backwards.

Mark comes early

It was so nice Mark came a day early.  I guess his staff heard what happened and told him to go and be with his family and that he should of left on Saturday.  That was nice.  So He has been here but pretty busy.  He took Michael up to snow board on Friday with his mom.  They had a great day.  It was beatiful.  I wish I could of gone.  I haven't been skiing in over 12 years.  Way to long.  (I'll have to post pictrues later.)

He went on a 4 hour work out with is Brother this morning.  So he also tried to catch up on some much needed sleep.

It's been great visiting with family.  And I am going to be sad to leave.  A part of me really wants to stay. I could put Michael in my mom's Fabulous 5 th grade class.  But it's not really the best thing in the long run I'm sure.  I won't miss the cold but I actually will miss the mountains and the winter.  I'm glad to be able to visit.  And If i knew winter only lasted until February than I could handle it but all that teasing in March drives me crazy, spring no lets snow again, warm day, snow... you get the idea.

I'm feeling better but had a bad day yesterday.  I felt like I was being stabbed all day in my side.  And tried to bowl even though I was in pain, let's just say that didn't go will and probably contributed to my mom's low score.   We took the girls to Boondocks, it's so fun!  They went bowling, played games, and int he play area.  It was so fun for them. I have lots of pictures I'll have to get from my mom's camera because Mark had mine skiing.  So I went back on my muscle relaxers and that seems to be helping a lot.  Later that night My parents took us to Texas Roadhouse, love that place!  Their rolls are so good and loaded sweet patatoe!  So yummy.  See I had big plans to excersise everyday this last week and obviously that didn't happen.  It's horrible I've gained a few pounds here.

Ugh it's hard not having my pictures handy.

The Accident

So here is a video of our little tubing accident. You can barely see us hit the tree, you need to watch the lower left hand side. As soon as the little tree comes into view keep your eye on that. I've watched the video several times in slow motion, I don't know how Drew did not come out with a head injury. In slow motion it looks like his head hits the tree. His head must of hit my arm instead. I don't know but we are very fortunate. It could of been a lot worse. We are lucky that we hit it on the side instead of head on, because than Drew would of flown into the tree. I wish i could enlarge the video and put it in slow motion but I can't.

But from going from barely beng able to move to 3 1/2 days later feeling pretty good, I count my blessings.

Bruises

Thsese are my bruises from my accident.  The first one is on my side and lower left back.

You can't see this one as good, but it is the darker coloring on my arm.  I have found some other bruises too.  But feeling much better today, I am not using the sling, and feel pretty good.  Not as sore.

A Week in Utah

We have had a lot of fun in Utah the kids have been having a lot of fun.  Playing in snow and playing at grandparents houses.  We have been pretty busy this last week.  On New Years eve I went and Saw Avatar with my brother, his wife and son and Michael.  I really liked it I was suprised.  We stayed up and played a game with the kids.  And just hung out on Friday, but that night I was left with only one child.  Eveyone else was sleeping somewhere else.   We went to Robintino's with my dad and mom.  It was a good realaxing evening.

Now let me mention Drew broke out into hives on New Years eve, and has been living on benedryl ever since.  He finally is looking so much better.

Saturday I went to lunch with My Grandma and that was fun to visit with her.  Before I left she said, "becareful."    After we met up with my sister to take the kids sledding/tubbing up at Eaglewood golf course.  Some harmless fun right...NOT!  well the hills are crazy Taylor took off on the tube no fear, went of a jump and laughed the whole time.  I took Drew on the Tube, he was ready to go with out me.  In fact he didn't want me to come at all.  Well it didn't go so well.  We went down this hill, leveled off a little and than down some more and off went and hit a tree.  Before you start to laugh, it was bad.  It was the scariest moment of my life.  Drew and i basically wrapped around the tree.  Thankfully Drew came out al right.  I could move to get to him and hold him. I tried to scoot, but my arm and lower back where in so much pain I could barley move.  WE tried to get me to walk, My dad wanted to call the Ambulance I wanted to try and walk.  I couldn't walk, and so the ambulance came, I was pretty upset by the whole thing.  Embarrassed.    They put me on the back board and put me on a sled and off we went.  I got some snow.  Thankfully nothing is broken.  They gave me motrin, pain pills, and a muscle relexer and a prescription for physical therapy.  My arm in a sling.  and  it's not too easy to type.  kind of painful.  I'm doing better.  But sure put a damper on things.  Needless to say I'm pretty scared of tubbing right now.  I doubt I'll go before I leave.  So my arm and lower left side hit the tree.  I have some good bruises.  Teh tree was only about 4 inches wide.  People who saw it said it looked pretty crazy, I wrapped around it and drew flew around it.  i saw the tree about 5-10 feet before we hit it, way to late to do anything.  I'm just glad nothing worse happened.  So that's my fun for a while.  Now I feel like the laziest person ever.

Here are some pictures from our Chrismtas dinner.

This picture is of my mom and Dad opening their gift from us kids.  It's the beginning of many DVD's.  We took 4 cases of slides (800 pictures.)  They really liked it.  My mom was really touched.  It was the highlight of the night.  Of course we went and watced most of the pictures, it starts with pictures of my Dad's mission up to a few pictures of them married.

Utah

So at 5:30 am I took off to Utah with the kids. We actually started to pull out when Michael said, "I can't find my ear phones." So that took another few mintues and we never found them. Things went pretty well, they were pretty tired and played and watched movies. It was when we stopped in Barstow about 4 hours into our ride that they started to have some problems. But thankfully it didn't last. We ate breakfast and used the restrooms (forced everyone to use...) and off we went again.

Next stop was St. George at my Grandma's house where My parents were visiting. It all worked out so they took have the kids and my mom road with me. It was so nice. We got in about 7:30-8 pm. Not too bad. The kids did pretty good. We hit some rough winds in California but thankfully no bad weather. I'm so glad we didn't leave on Tuesday because it snowed all day and night. The kids loved it though. They couldn't wait to get out side.
