Our Piano

Just wanted to let you know one of my goals has been accomplished. I got a piano. Thanks to a wonderful friend. Thanks Karen. She happened to call and let me know they where going to be selling their piano for only $200. I couldn't beat that. And Mark said Yes. Yea! She even delivered it too us all the way from Poway. And Mark and our Neighbor Eddie got it out of her van and in place. I'm really excited. Now we need to find a piano teacher.

I don't know this is kind of funny. I don't think it's true. But it makes me smile.

I am loosing my mind

So I called the doctor the other day to make appointments for me. I look it up online for the naval hospitals phone number. I get it and call, they have no record of me. "What?" I'm thinking that's crazy. so I ask, "Can you please check my kids they just where there." Once again, nothing the last time they saw them was May 2007. This is so crazy. How could this happen I think. Than I ask what hospital is this? She replies "halyburton naval hospital, Cherry Point" DUH!!!! (it's in North Carolina) I'm such an ediot. That's the exact phone number I looked up too. I typed in Halyburton in google. I meant Balboa Hospital. They are so close aren't they.

This is nothing new in my life. I often turn around and can't remember why I turned around to get or go and do. It's very frustrating. But to many of you I'm sure this is nothing new.

The Trash

Well I feel awful. Today is my Grandpa's birthday we share the same birthday month. I always remember. Needless to say I forgot today. And it's not like I can run out and drop off a card, since he lives in another state. So I'll call I feel bad though.

So tell me who takes the trash out in your house? And puts the barrels on the street? I'm a tradition women I believe that a MAN should do it. So I've been working with Michael to do it. But really Mark should do it don't you agree??? You'd better say yes. But anyhow he often times forgets, so I'm there on Friday morning in my PJ's putting the trash out. Should I just stop complaining and do it? What do you think? Don't get me wrong Mark is a great husband! But this little duty slips his mind. Sometimes he just gets home too late so that's out of his control, and he is exhausted.

Anyway just a moment to complain about the trash duty. Oh did I mention the steep driveway I have to push the barrels up? At least they have wheels right?

Busy day/week

Wow it's only Wednesday feels like Thursday and I've been so busy. I haven't even gone to the gym this week. To some of you that may seem like no big deal but really it is, it's an escape for myself for a little bit and we are paying for it.
I had a wonderful yearly physical (enough said about that). OH except for the part where I have to fast for 12 hours for a blood sugar test. I guess it's because diabetes is in my family and I get to have my thyroid checked too. Oh i got a tetanus shot. I don't like those. It didn't hurt at all when I got but it's killing me now a day later. Michael was rubbing his head on my arm and boy did that hurt. And I had a TB test, the school needs it.
So I get to go back to the doctor for blood test, and go to the dentist all on the same day. But I'm so lucky Mark will be home. YEA! He saved me.

Today I had a presidency meeting with our new YW president (I'm the second counselor). It went pretty well. It was at my house. Because I have to run Savannah to the bus. I felt like maybe I voiced my opinion to much. I'm sure some of you are saying. You? No way? haha!
But we have a good president and our presidency is going to be great.

Than I went to work on my bunny pin. See below. Oh did I mention I cut myself in the process. Oh no I didn't. I also cut myself but thankfully not too bad. Good thing I got my tetanus shot right?

Oh Michael did cut himself. He was closing our vanity mirror in the bathroom and sliced his had. About 1/4 inch long. It was pretty deep. He was crying like the Dickens (what does that mean anyway?) I think we woke up the neighborhood. Mark brought some stuff home the next day and glued him back together. It's all good now. I can't believe how fast the body heals.

And tonight I even read two books to my kids. For me that is a great accomplishment. Bedtime is a crazy time. I gave up soccer tonight just to hang out with my kids. It was worth it! We had fun. Drew even had fun with the fire, but he got really nervous when there was a lot of smoke. He was really stressed, he walked the long way around to me so he could avoid the smoke. Oh I forgot to mention we even ate outside, It was a pretty chilly day but it didn't get that much colder in the evening.

Ok enough for tonight I need to go watch American Idol.

Tin Foil Dinners

I felt like a fire tonight. I real fire, not from the wood longs you buy from the store but from the pile of termite eaten wood in our back yard. I was planning on making smores with the kids but Mark had made this delicious desert for us just last night. So I decided to make tin foil dinners. And not your average tin foil dinner with hamburger, potatoes and carrots. It was lemon chicken (made with lemons from our very own tree), bar-b-que chicken, and french fries. The kids thought that was a great idea. They loved the french fries, which where sliced potatoes, with Parmesan cheese, bacon bits, olive oil, salt and pepper. It turned out pretty good the only think that didn't' was my green beans I put them on too late, so they weren't ready. Everything else was pretty good. I was pretty proud of myself. I even had a really good fire going from the beginning. 7 years of girls camp really payed off. OH and the reason I could have a smokey wood fire was because Mark wasn't here, it really bothers his eyes.

I am resourceful

Ok so we have a bunny right? We have a large yard, lots of places the bunny can hide, and get under. So I thought we need a contained place the bunny can play. So being the smart resourceful person I am I looked around my yard and this is what I came up with.

What do you think? I had to add the top to it (which was was in our corral) because the bunny kept getting out. Than I had to add the 5 inch wire around the edge because he could still jump/climb out of the 2 inch space. But now it's complete and Nibbles stayed in most of the afternoon and seemed very please. Or I think he did. Incase your wondering most of this is leftover from or deck that just got redone.
