So this week has been pretty busy for me. And believe it or not I didn't take a single picture. Amongst the baseball games and practices Michael had a report due. His first one. I didn't like doing this at all. It made me feel like I was back in school. See I'm not a procrastinator and lets just say he didn't hop on this project as soon as I'd like. Needless to say it was a long week, and I think my (oops I mean his) report turned out really well. It was on Old Town.
We had the usual dance classes too. Than Mark let me know on Friday (I thought I could just relax this weekend maybe catch a movie or something) that his friends were coming over from work. Ugh, the house is a complete mess on Friday mind you.
But we had fun, it was a friend and his family. His wife was very nice, she produces TV commercials.
Today was Stake conference. I'm always amazed how there is hardly anyone there. Picture the stake centers in Utah, Ours is slightly smaller. And the gym is not even full. Kind of sad. The kids did pretty good. Ten times better than the teenagers sitting behind us. I could hardly hear, also it was like we were sitting in the kids play zone. It was loud. That's what we get for being late.
And believe it or not I had a nap today. Which I regret, because I am more tired now than before my nap, and I don't feel very good after naps plus I won't be able to sleep very well today.
I also started a behavior chart this weekend I really need something to help us. I am getting mad too many times. It's really simple if they do what they are asked the first time they get a good check Mark, if they don't or if they misbehave they get a bad check mark. And if they do something without being asked they get a STAR which is worth 5 good check marks. This week whoever has the most get to go out to eat anywhere they want. I hope it helps.
We'll someone is begging for Juice. Oh Drew will be starting speech therapy did you know by 24 months they should know 400 words? Yea Drew doesn't even know 50. He is doing much better but this should help. Ok, free time over.

I'm sure I have told you that Joshua didn't say a single word at 2. Not even "mom" or "dad". It wasn't till he was 2 and a half that he started talking, and he never quit! I hope that this helps Drew.
i too am struggling with the behavior of my kids. i've been thinking of a great behavior chart of sorts including chores and things. i'm sick of having to say the same thing over and over!
oh and don't you love sunday naps!?
I need to talk to you about the speech thing. Lincoln was in speech in Utah, but his speech therapist told me that she doesn't think he'll qualify here because he is now at a 24 month level (never mind that he's 29 months). And for what its worth, he doesn't know anywhere near 400 words.
But, I've called the number here twice to get him evaluated, and they keep saying they'll call me back, but they never do.
Sharon that behavior chart sounds genius. It's so good to have that reward at the end. Oh I just had an idea, I think for me the hard part of this would be to find the time and energy to go put the check mark there on the chart, so maybe have one for the kitchen, family room, and especially the car, then you don't have to remember or go to far to mark it. Then just add the charts together at the end of the week. But you probably don't have that problem, I'm so much lazier that you! I've gotten too good at having my students do everything!
Drew is so close to getting some words, I bet this little push will put him right where he needs to be. I wasn't that worried though.
I hope you have a good week. I wish John and I had friends to invite over! I'm glad it was fun.
I don't know if I can recall 400 words..My sister didn't talk until she was 3 because we (my brother and I) talked for her. But, hopefully Drew is headed in the right direction! Your garden looks great, we are putting our backyard in now, and I'll have two raised beds for an attempt at northwest gardening.
*You have a rabbit right? Do you have any other animals? I'm trying to decide if we want a dog, or if kids will be enough to handle while Dan's in O.S. Any thoughts?
