A Dr. Suess moment

We all love Dr. Suess right?  We all know the story of Green eggs and ham?  Well the other night I was talking to my son, ok not talking lecturing him and I was saying something like this....
"I do not want you texting at night."
"I do not want you complaining."
"I do not want you on the computer after 7pm."
"I do not want..."
(you get the idea.)
When Michael said, "said Sam-I-Am!" (without missing a bet)  All my other kids where holding in their smiles until I couldn't contain my grin anymore.
Michael said, "You have to admit it's funny."  And it was very funny and lightened up the mood a lot.  I'm glad I was able to laugh instead of getting more frustrated.

Saturday...

So glad Saturday is over.  I woke up at 7:30 (well really a lot  earlier when Drew came into my room scared and than later when Taylor came in my room scared.) But I got up at 7:30 thinking about getting our family pictures.  What to wear?  I had it mostly figured out.  I wanted the kids and I to coordinate but I wanted them to be themselves too.  Everyone was set except Drew.  I really didn't like the shirt I had for him, it was blue and brown.  Well the blue matched but no one was wearing brown.  So I got up showered and with wet hair ran to Kohl's deteremind to find him a better shirt.  Walked around the boy's section and not seeing anything that would work!  Come on!  Than I walked around again and again and finally found the one and only shirt that would work. Perfect and it even had the right size.  Grabbed a bed set for Drew as well.
Got home hurry and scrabbled to get the kids ready. Try to find my makeup, no one knew where it was.  I asked everyone and they all said they didn't know.  Finally asked Taylor, "please tell me if you know where my makeup is I won't get mad."  without any hesitation she said, "it's in my closet on the top shelf."  Seriously??????  I couldn't get made a promised, but she lied to me, I asked her twice before that.
Couldn't find the hairspray (found it today by my toilet.)
So off to pictures we, thankful my mom came and helped me get the kids ready and went with me to get pictures.  We left late, of course.  Taylor was being a pill...Pushing the limit of my sanity.
I was meeting my friend Rachel in Draper.  So I put Draper Park in my phone gps (well my mom did.) and off we go, only to find out as we get on I-80 that our destination was set for Draper Park Oklahoma City.  So I had to turn around..
Got off the right exit got lost again and finally a half late we arrived.
How did the pictures go you may ask?  They are done and really that's all I want to say, but lets see I had 3 cranky kids.  Didn't want to do what was asked, didn't want to smile, went off crying got mad because the picture he wanted done wasn't working out, 2 walk out of the family picture one comes back and one refuses!  Pictures are officially over!  AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
I'm anxious to see how they turned out.
So after pictures we grabbed something to eat at Arby's, let me tell you that they gave us the stupidest "toy."  It frustrated everyone the kids, me and my mom it finally ended up in the trash
Than off to stop at burlington coat factory to look at some baby bedding for my sister.  The kids get two carts and start racing through the store screaming!  I turn to my mom, "who's kids are those,"  she said, "can't they control them?"
Find baby bedding leave for Michael soccer game in West, West, West Jordan.  Michael the whole time is letting me know he will be late, he basically counts down to the time he is supposed to be there.  "Yeap, we're late."  Ugh, so annoying.
No shade, thankful for a cool breeze.  Michael had a great game he scored two goals!  They won their first game.  If they can play like they did in the second half we will have a great team for the season.  There is about 10 minutes left the game and Drew is done!  He wants to go home, so I listen and listen to him telling me I want to go home, I want to go home.  Over and over.
Did I mention the fighting of my kids in the car?  I guess that goes without saying.
Finally time to go home.  Forgot I made a promise to Drew to go to the Dollar Store, so off we went and watched another miracle Michael being so kind to Taylor and Drew he bought them each something with his own money.
Home!  But I have a half hour before the ward party and I need to make cookies.  So I quickly do that.
Everyone leaves but Drew and I.  I arrive a half hour late.  I'm good with that.
Did I mention the giant black window I saw in my garage.  Tried to get a picture but the camera was being so weird, it was blurry. But he was big, the biggest one I've ever seen.  I sprayed him, and later my dad smashed him with a hammer.  I only saw it because there was a piece of plastic that looked like it was floating but it was on top of this web.
Go to ward party, stay a little while and for real go home.  My wonderful parents are there.  My mom and is there already putting dishes away and proceeds to help me clean my house.  The kids want to watch a movie but I said, no way until they clean up the basement play room.  And guess what without complaint they went off and cleaned!  it was like a new room.
We sat down to watch a movie, I was exhausted it was a long day.  So grateful for my mom being with me to help with the kids.  The sad part is I did really well but let a lot of frustration out of Michael.
Being a single mom really stinks.  I have to be honest.  I hate the weekend.  Friday comes and I'm not happy.  I can handle the weekday because Mark was so busy during the week I was on my own with the kids most the time than.  But he was mostly home on the weekend.
I miss a lot of thing right now I miss someone to talk to at the end of the day, to confide in, to make decisions with.  I have a lot of support but nothing can replace a husband.

Watch me play Basketball...

Drew went and got his "basketball uniform" on and said come take my picture as I shoot baskets.  So I did.  It's so cute, the shirt and shorts are too big I loved that he tucked in his SHIRT too.  (SORRY I HAD NO IDEA, I GUESS I SHOULD REALLY PROOF READ.)

I loved his reaction to this shot above.

First Day of Preschool

Drew's first day of preschool, he was really excited.  He knew where he was going he had been there last year.  So he was ready.  It went really smooth.  After I picked him up he said he had homework!  He was so happy to have homework (which was book orders. )  he said, "I feel like  tindergartener (kindergartener) "  He is so big in his class he has gotten so tall.  so these pictures are from before preschool.  He has a huge fascination with bugs especially dragonflies.  He will even name them.  We found this one when we went out to take pictures.  He put it in a bucket to keep it safe and "out of the cold"  till he got home.

I love his smile!  Drew is such a character, he and Michael have those wonderful smiling eyes that just light up.

Drew has a very tender heart as well, and I must say he is doing much better at listening, he'll put up a fight but than I just ignore him and he'll go do what I asked, ( a lot of the time.)  The other day we where walking home from  my parents house, holding hands (he loves to hold my hand now something he used to hate.)  He said, "I wish daddy didn't love his friend."  and "and you would get back together."  It just breaks my heart sometimes the sweet things he says.

It's a miracle...

Taylor let me do her hair!  YOu may think this is silly but half the time I can't even touch her hair to brush it.  She is so full of spunk and personality I just have to let this go.  But this day she wanted to look like the girl on her t-shirt, side pony tail and a big bow!

I  love Taylor's personal style!  and I love her little pigeon toed stance.

Brain Day

Savannah has been learning about brains this last week at school.  She has loved learning so much.  She was so impressed with herself when she was balancing one day she said, "Looks like my cerebellum is working."  I asked her what that was and she said, "That's what helps your balance in the brain."  So cute.  So on friday they got to hold sheep brains and tell us all about them.

Yuck!

My mom came into the backyard and said, hurry come look at the Trianchella.  Did I hear that right?  Yeap there was one sitting under her truck.  She had seen it walk across my driveway.
Than after that we saw this weird little guy, I guess he is a Jeruseleum beetle.  All in one night.  The kids where so fascinated.   They weren't scared, they were about 5 inches away from the spider taking pictures of it.  This doesn't do it justice, it was about 3 inches big. We've seen some other weird bugs in our yard, one was a giant water bug.  No picture of him though.
