Life in General (bare with me)

I've been a slacker, but for good reasons.  I recently started a new part time job.  I feel truelly blessed, I walked into the school one day to and the principal asked if I had a job.  I said, no, she had me go into her office and she offered me  a job as a T.A. part time.  I couldn't believe it.  It's really all I could take on right now.  But I work with a second grade teacher helping struggling readers.  And believe it or not I was actually correcting there writing the other day.  I know you are thinking, "Sharon, correcting writing, really?  she can't even write correctly."  Well thankfully it's first graders, but I did have to pull out the dictionary, I'm so pathetic.  It's been good just doing something helps me take my mind of things for a little bit.

For those who keep asking, no my divorce is not final yet.  I have to go to San Diego for a "status conference" in March.  Lucky me it's two days before my birthday.  After that it should be a few weeks, if we can agree on things.

Life has taken some huge turns for me.  I'm amazed at all the support I have received.  My ward has been awesome.  I'm reading a book right now.  and it's about a leprosy colony in Molokai.    They faced so much heart ache during that time.  I just read this part and I think it can apply to all of us during difficult time.  In one part this women's husband is killed.  She is ready to commit suicide.  When a nun comes to sit by her.  This is the same nun who saw this young girl when she came to the island at age 7.   When they saw the first Biplane fly over the island the nun said, "Who can doubt the presence of God in the sight of men who he has given wings."  She than says to this women who is about to commit suicide, "I've had time to consider y error.  God didn't give man wings, he gave him the brain and the spirit to give himself wings.  Just as He gave us the capacity to laugh when we hurt, or to struggle on when we feel like giving up.
"I've come to believe that how we choose to live with pain, or injustice, or death...is the true measure of the Divine within us.  Some, like Crossen, choose to do harm to themselves and others.  Others, like Kenji, bear up under their pain and help others to bear it. "

I have felt much like giving up, I still have really tough days, but I have more better days that others.  Does it make getting a divorce any easier?  No! but I know I can make it through it (most days I know that.).  Even if it is something I don't want at all.   I hope that I can help others.  Life is really what we make of it.   Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, phone calls, and just your  concern of how I am doing.  I saw my old bishop (the one who was my bishop when I got married.)  he said, "You'll be ok."  He's right even though I still have to tell myself that.

I just had my 13  year anniversary.  would I trade those 13 years back for never being married.  No marriage is hard, but it was worth it.  I have four beautiful kids.  Do I feel like I made a mistake marrying Mark?  No I don't.    We had great experiences.  Because of my marriage to Mark I moved out of the state of Utah, to Boston, what I thought was one of the hardest experiences of my life.  To be one of the best experiences of my life.  I learned to be more independent as Mark was busy with school.  As we moved from place to place I meet amazing people and made some life long friends.  Friends that I could run into after not speaking for a long time and be able to pick up right where we left off.   I'll miss celebrating more wedding anniversaries with Mark and being able to share my life with him.  But know I have  no regrets in any of my decisions.   Some how I will make it through this.   My only regret is loosing Mark.

Bubble Bath Time

I think this is the first time drew actually had fun in the bubble bath.  He was scared before.  They love Grandma Jacuzzi tub.

Check out the bubbles!   A ton of bubbles.

Basketball Season

This is Michaels first time being on basketball team.  He is on a great team.  One of the biggest blessing of living here is Michael has made some great friends.  They are all such good kids.  My mom had many of them in her class last year she said they are such a great group of kids.

Adventures with Drew...

My parents got this little car, Drew loves to play in it.  He is so cute, he doesn't just drive it around, but he has sound effects and a huge imagination.  (as a side note today Drew set up a bunch of transformers and was playing all by himself, talking for the different robots.  It was so cute, one robot intruduced his mom, and he said, "Nice to meet  you."  It's so cute.  He did this for a good 20 minutes. as we where all visiting at the dinner table.)

Drew has a friend named Jack, they are the cutest family.  They always come to church with little suits on.  So Drew really wants to wear a suit jacket too.  He won't where the suit jacket we  have that is too big he would rather do this.  (look below.)
He dressed himself last sunday, he was so proud of him self.  I was going to let him wear this I did fix his buttons and tie.  But he was not happy it didn't look like Jacks.  Although he kept saying "Jacks jacket is black, mine is white."

Making dominoes with Drew.  Drew and I spent a 1/2 hour or so making this dominoes set up.  He loves to build things.
I thought we did pretty and where pretty creative.  He had fun.  Of course the best part is when they fall down.

January

Savannah is very artistic she made a flower out of kisses wrappers.

We went swimming at the rec center last week when the kids where out of school.  I took my  four plus my 2 nephew's.  Thankfully most of them are able to reach every where.  But the girls did want to go off the diving boards.  Savannah even went off the high dive!  So brave.

Book Reports...Savannah's Class does monthly book reports.  This last one was a mobile.  It turned out pretty cute.  Here's the front and back.

My Little Firefighter!

Drew is so fun.  He has a big imagination like his brother and sisters.  One day he found these washer hoses that weren't being used and immediately decided he was going to be a fireman. So he went looking for his fireman raincoat, boots, and hat.  And he was set.  He went around putting out fires.  I got some video too.  I love his sound effects of being blown out of the house, and he "flies" back from the impact of the blast.

Below he is climbing up a ladder.

New Years Eve

What is Drew doing?  This is how I found him watching TV.  Sucking his toe.  Yuck!  He seems to always have to have something in his mouth.  Most the time it's his fingers.  He likes to chew them.

We had a fun New Years Eve, My brother, nephews, Michael and I all went and saw Tron than came home and hung out tell midnight.  I was pretty tired.  We watched our friends fireworks.  And the kids had a blast banging on pots and pans.

So below this is a note from Savannah.  I didn't see this until later. But it was too cute not to take a picture of.  It made me laugh.  Thankfully everyone was all happy again by the time I saw this.

We didn't get to play any games so the next night Michael and I went and played some games at my Sister's we played Settlers of Caattan.  I could get addicted to that game it was a lot of fun, so another late night that night too.
