What a cutie

Drew made this cute hat at Preschool.  He was very proud of it.  Amazingly it stayed on his head, it was the day of the "terrible winter storm"  That was a total let down.  He had a lot of fun they had a thanksgiving feast at school.  Drew brought mini cinnamon rolls from Costco which he totally loves, the night before he did not want to share, but thankfully he did.  I practically had to drag him into class but he ended up staying in.  He is still not sure about preschool, somedays are good others, like a week ago are a nightmare, I had to had him off to the teacher and leave.  They said he calmed down pretty quick and was fine the rest of the day.  If it wasn't for his speech I would take him out.

So after preschool Drew wanted me to spike his hair, he wanted a mow-hawk he was very specific how he wanted it done.  He is funny about his hair somedays he loves it to be done other days he doesn't' want me to touch it.

Another lost tooth

The other night Taylor came and told me she had a loose tooth and wanted me to pull it out.  It wasn't quite ready.  But she was determined.  It ended up be a group effort by the siblings, they where supposed to be all in bed.  Drew comes out and says, "Mom taylor's mouth bleeding and Michael's finger is bleeding."  I couldn't believe it, they where all working together!  So I went up to see what was going on.  It was looser, and she wanted it out.  So a few more twists and pulls and I got it out.  She was very excited.  The tooth fairy came and brought her 1.50.  The next day she said, "Mom why do you think the tooth fairy brought me 1 dollar and 2 quarters?  Do you think it's because we worked so hard last night?"  She is such a sweaty.  Michael is funny he told me I should give her 2 dollars and I said I don't know what he is talking about.  He knew better.

In fact as a side note he asked me today in Sacrament if I'm the one who puts the presents out from Santa.  I said, "do you really want me to answer that?"  He said, No with a big smile.  He knows but I'm like him as soon as someone says it out loud it's just not as fun.

Kids are so perceptive...

So about a week ago I was talking with Drew and he said, "do you hate dad?'  I said "No I love dad."  He than asked, "He doesn't like you anymore?"  I said, "no" and than asked "why?"  a few times.  Than he said, "we need to be a family again."  And he said "You shouldn't be mad, (he made a mad face) you need to be happy. (and he made a happy face."

Than another day, he said Mark needed to move here, and we need to be together again.  And he told me I can't love Grandpa (my dad) because I love Mark.  So he thinks my dad is taking Mark's place as my husband.  It was so cute and sad, because he does not want that to happen.  And I tried to explain that Grandpa is my dad and I love him like Drew loves Mark.  He just didn't' get it.  He just kept saying, "you can't love Grandpa."

1st Grade Field Trip

So today I went on a field trip with Taylor's class.  First we went to R.D.T.  which is a dance company hear in Salt Lake.  It was really good except just too long for 1st graders.  It had a science twist to it.  Than we went to the Clark Planetarium and checked that out and also watched a cool presentation in the Dome theater.  It's pretty cool.  It has a show about outerspace, and the way it is set up you feel like you are moving,  I got motion sickness and so did some other mom's I'm pathetic.  But it was pretty cool.  The kids loved checking out the stuff.

 Look Taylor is on Mars!

What a silly boy.

Another week almost gone and I can't believe next week is thanksgiving. CAn we just skip the holidays this year?  Anyhow look at this cute boy, he found some sunglasses and one lense was missing so he popped out the other and put them on and wore them around the house for the day.  He started occupational therapy on Monday.  He loved it.  It's like play time with a purpose.  He actually was getting winded.  The point is to help strengthen him.  So I learned some big new words there.  One thing is his joints, because they are so loose they have something to do with helping you calm yourself.  I don't know exactly how to explain it but as those get strengthened it should help him  with his tantrums.  Interesting huh?  I hope it helps.
So I finally finished a project I started back in March.  I offered to make bedspreads for her girls bunkbeds We had painted there room pink a blue.  We where also putting up polk a dots (those are all up right Candi? :)  on the wall.  But of course my life was turned upside down and 8 months later I am finally finishing the project.   I think it turned out pretty cute.  I had some leftover fabric so I made some pillows as well.  I hope they like it.

Evan Almighty...Something to think about!

Have you ever seen Evan.  It's on TV and we started watching it in the middle.  There is a part where Morgan Freeman is playing God.  He comes to Evan's wife at a restaurant and asks how she is doing and she wants to know what to do with a husband who says God told him to build an arc.  So he asks her some questions.  Which I think are wonderful and apply to us all today. I guess earlier she had prayed that their family could be closer.    This is what he says:

"If someone prays for patience, do you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If they pray for courage, does God give them courage, or does he give them opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for their family to be closer, you think God zaps them with warm, fuzzy feelings? Or does he give them opportunities to love each other? "

Isn't that so true.  I have prayed for patient for years, and I think I have many opportunities to be patient.  I just loved that quote and I think it something we can all remember as we are praying for something.  It all takes work, He will not "zap" us with what we need, we are given opportunities.

Another trip to the Dentist

So this morning Drew had another dental appointment.  Poor guy, he did not want to go.  He didn't even want to get dressed.  We finally got him dressed out the door in the car.  I carried him into the office screaming.  We knew right away he was not going to go for the laughing gas.  So we just did nasal sedation.  He did not like that at all.  I guess it feels like when you jump in the pool and water goes up your nose, not so fun.  But soon he relaxed and they gave him the laughing gas and he was set to go.  He watched toy story and they even put in the white fillings for no extra charge so he could do them quicker.  I really like their dentist.  He is great.  They also put in a mouth expander, he is not liking that very much at all.  But he is now a little loopy and will be for a while I guess.  He can't walk yet.  It's kind of cute.  He got to have ice cream for a late breakfast.  Since he couldn't eat before the appointment.  So now we are set eating ice cream and watching toy story 3.

phew...

So I think I'm officially all caught up, well with pictures anyways.  Between all that stuff I have been running to numerous appointments.  A few yearly check ups for kids.  So 3 of 4 have flu shots.  Michael insisted on having a shot instead of the mist because Taylor got sick from the mist.

Taylor had a huge crash on her scouter, which gave her a pretty stiff neck and it was just after she had the flumist.  But I didn't really think about those.  So on Sunday I was really worried, she had a stiff neck a fever, and after talking with my brother in law who is a Dr.  I thought she might have meningitis.  So we went to the DR the next day just to make sure, thankfully it was just a soar neck from the fall.

Drew also had an Occupational Therapy appointment, he has some sensory disorders, and muscle tone issues.  I don't know how to explain it all.  But he will be have O.T. once a week for a month than every other week after that.  So Between speech, preschool and OT he will be very busy.  I think I may have to take a break from speech for a little bit.

Michael has had a soar heel for a few months so I took him in to have that looked at and they gave him an xray.  They told me they couldn't rule out a fracture...what does that mean?  So we have an appointment with an orthopedic in two weeks.  We'll see if there is anything that we can do.  he won't keep off it to rest it.  But by the end of the day he is limping around.

So besides enjoying probably the last week of good weather nothing else is going on.  Oh wait, I got a new computer I love it.  I am also making slideshows.  I just made one for my nephew's baptism and will be doing another one her for my sister in laws nursing school.  So if you want a slide show let me know.

As for me, I seem to be up and down.  I went to the temple today and it was really nice to just have some peace, I have been so emotional lately.  i think I have also become somewhat of a recluse.  Keeping to myself, and not much up for visiting.  I'm sure it will pass.  Thanks again for all of you who give me so much love and support.

Big Birthday and charlie

Here's a cute picture of charlie.  And below was all of our october birthday's.

Happy Halloween

Trick or treating was a lot of fun...It was pouring rain.  Michael was with his cousin in their neighborhood.  Savannah was with a friend and so I had Drew and Taylor and my mom came with us.  Well we didn't go to many houses, the pour things where soaking wet.  Of course when we came in and got all changed it stopped raining.  Of course I didn't take them to the trunk r treat because I wanted them to experience real trick or treating.  I should of done the trunk or treat.  Oh well.  They still had a lot of fun.  And my kids still have candy left.  I think they are crazy.  It probably helps that there dad isn't around raiding their candy bags.

Beautiful Salt Lake Sunsets

I have missed many things in Utah, the fall and the beautiful sunsets.

Congratulations Michael...You earned your arrow of light

Michael had earned his arrow of light back in San Diego but was never awarded it.  So they gave it to him here.  It was just at a pack meeting.  Which was fine by him.  My dad happened to be doing a presentation on fire safety presentation for the cub scouts.

A fun thing we did after the awards where passed out is the boys all got to put on my dad's fire gloves and tried to open some candy after 30 seconds they could use there teeth.  Only a couple got the candy out.  My dad got his out just in time well it was the best time.  Later we tried to it at home.   You have to understand the gloves are very hard to bend.  It's really hard to hold the candy.

I have to say I bet everyones time, but we decided the kit kat candy was easier to open.

Halloween Party

Savannah was invited to a halloween/birthday party.  She got to dress up for it.  She was so excited.  My sister  did the makeup I did the hair, and we put on these fake eyelashes and nails.  She loved it.  I think she looked "spooktacular!"

It's Snowing!

I forgot this little spiderman snow hat was also a reward for going to the dentist for Drew.  He loves it.
