Another correction

So my dad says talking to me is like talking to a reporter, we just say whatever we want, and don't really listen.  So it wasn't 5,500 acres, it was 55 acres that were burned.  I'm so dumb!  I should be able to figure that out by myself.  Anyway I think I have it all corrected now!

Slight Correction...

So my dad said I had the numbers wrong on the fire, so if he had 100 gallons of water he could of put out the fire. (But he wasn't with a fire truck with a hose or anything.)  And it burnt 5,500 acres, not 55,000 I guess that would be about all of Centerville City!  Oops.  :) but hey it made for a great story right?

Mountain Fire

So just above my parents house they had a fire. It was from some teenagers shooting up there and it bounced off a rock and sparked a fire. We could watch the helicopter get water from the reservoir above their house. We also watched the airplane drop the fire retardant. The cool thing was my dad was the first on the scene, for those who don't know my Dad is the Deputy Chief for South Davis Metro Fire. He was on his way back from a meeting when he saw the smoke. He said the kids came running when he pulled up, "we're sorry we tried to put it out with our water bottles." My dad said it was only about 45 foot square when he got there. He could of put it out if he had about 10 gallons of water. Thankfully the mountains are still green here, and the wind was pretty calm. There was one point when the wind picked up and the flames got really big. I'm mad I didn't have my camera out than. Thankfully the winds calmed down if not it could of been a lot worse, it ended up burning 55,000 acres.

Below is a really blurry but you can make out the forest fire fighters. My dad said they just marched up the mountain like a little train, they probably got wet some of the time. Which I'm sure wasn't too bad. But they where busy all night too. I was bummed my camera didn't take good pictures at night, but the top was still burning at night so you could see it only night. And than you could see all the workers head lamps. Kind of fun.

Cherrie Hills

We have been spending a lot of time at cherrie Hills this summer.  One day we decided to go miniuature gofling before going and playing in the water.  Drew loved it but we sure did wear him out, he was dead tired so he took at nap while the rest of us played.  I couldn't believe he slept so well with so much noise around him.

Fireworks at my Brother's

So on the 5th of July we went to my totally awesome big brother's house to do fireworks.  Some of my kids have never seen these kind of fireworks, so deprived aren't they?  He had a big box of stuff and I bought a few things from my friend who has a firework stand.  (If you want some for the 24th, she has a stand across from Sam's club in Layton in front of bargain wharehouse.  They are really a good price too!)  The kids loved it, even though Drew is pulling a frowny face he is actually having a ton of fun.  He had a few tanks he thought were really cool, but threw a total fit when some took his last one and had it lit.  He was not happy.  The grand finally was the Benz!  You can tell how loud it is by Drew covering his ears. They loved it!

Visiting the Cabin

On Saturday before Eagle Wood fireworks we headed up to my Grandparents cabin, it was such a nice day, not even too hot.  Which is crazy for July.  In fact I was cold that night watching fireworks.  The kids had a lot of fun exploring the mountains.

An Early Birthday celebration

So savannah really wanted to celebrate with her Breese cousins before they went home. So we went to the park opened presents and ran around.

The boys. So while we where at the park we also brought scooters, well Drew fell while we where there but I should mention that he had already fallen early this week and skinned his knee and elbow at the park he skinned his knee again, top of his hand and head even though he was wearing a helmet. These picutre should of been before the fourth pictures, oops. But you can see his bump in his head in the fourth pictures.

More fireworks

So the nice thing about being in Utah for the 4th is when it falls on Sunday you get to celebrate all weekend.  On Saturday I went with my family, totally forgot the camera I was so mad.  WE went up to Eaglewood golf course, and watched fireworks there.  It was crazy, there where so many people.  We had "reserved" parking and a spot ont he grass thanks to my Dad's great Conections.  It sure does pay to have a dad a Deputy Cheif in the Fire Department.  They where excellant fireworks!

So below are pictures from the parade on Saturday morning.
Here's Grandma Breese and some of the cousins walking in the parade.
It was crazy trying to get candy, here the kids are waiting for more candy to be thrown.  It was the highlight of parade for them.

Concert in the Park

So Centerville City does a concert in the park for the fourth of July each year, this year it was on Friday. So I went with Mark's family, and the kids had a lot of fun. I have not been in about 10 years. Here are pictures of the kids with their cousins who are visiting from out of town too.
