Drew is in love with this bunny.

Drew

Drew was very intent on getting into this cage. First he had only part of his body, than all of sudden I look and he is all the way in and he didn't want to get out believe it or not. He loves this bunny and I guess he just wants to live with him. It actually took me a while to get him out.

So fun

Some days I just don't get it, it seems like I've been cleaning all day but all I have to show for it is some folded laundry a clean kitchen and a living room, only to have a bottle of spagetti crash on the floor by a toddler, and the living become the playroom. Why to I bother. Oh and a sliced finger from the broken glass I was cleaning up from the spagetti.

Boys will be Boys...

All you have to do is turn on sports and give them some chips and salsa and they are happy.

Happy Birthday Michael

Michael turned 9 years old yesterday. I can hardly believe it. It really does seem that long ago that he was toddling around like Drew. We had a birthday party for him Saturday. It went very well. I was worried, I really don't like throwing parties they really stress me out. I'm always wondering..."is everyone going to have fun, will Michael have a melt down, what if the kids are rude....etc." But it went Great.

First we made individual pizza's, the boys loved it. They made double decker's with their toppings. While those cooked they headed out side for a game a lightning. This actually used to be one of my favorite games in Elementary school. The boys had never played. I was a little worried because I didn't know how well the kids all shot the ball but they did very well. And I was relieved that Michael didn't win every game.
These are his friends who came, first Ryan who is our neighbor and pretty much Michael's only playmate, he is 8. Chris is next he is in Michael's class at school. And Colin is in the orange he goes to our church and has scouts with Michael he'll be 10 in a couple of weeks. Even though there was a big age difference they all had fun together.
Here they are enjoying their pizza's outside. It had been raining on Friday, but on Saturday it turned out to be a beautiful day, and on Sunday it again rained all day. Michael even noticed, he said Sunday how he was lucky it didn't rain yesterday.
This was funny, Michael was the first one up on the pinata, Mark had turned him around a little and so Michael started to swing. He bumped it once and than Someone yelled "NOW!" and Michael waked the pinata. When Michael swings he is swining for the green monster. Anyhow...He hit it and it split in half, the bottom fell completely off, it was the worst pinata I have ever seen, normally you have to hit those things a ton of times and then sometimes assist it by ripping it. So nobody else got to his it. Savannah cried because she didn't get a turn, she was pretty whinny the whole time.
Here's the birthday boy it took him 3 or 4 times to blow his candles out. Everyone was lauging. It was a great day. And today he got mail from Grandparents, a gift card and money he announced this was the best birthday ever. You can't beat that.

Nibbles

So here's our little bunny. His name is Nibbles. He was born on January 15, 2008. The girls are very fond of him, and Michael is already loosing interest. He has a cage outside our back door, and we made a little pen for him in the yard.

I am a mother...

I love this book I Am A Mother. Probably one of the best self esteem books for mom's I say. Anyway I'm teaching tomorrow on A Woman’s Responsibility to Teach in Young Women's. I kind focused more on the importance of teaching as a mom. I remember this book and there is an article in the LDS living magazine on this book. This is a quote from it it's actually by Oprah but I love it and I think if lived by it can be very in powering....

“In our society, we give motherhood plenty of lip service,” says Oprah Winfrey, another champion of motherhood. “We pat moms on the head, bring them flowers on Mother’s Day, and honor them before crowds. But at the end of the day, we don’t extend them the same respect we would a professor, a dentist, an accountant, or a judge.
“I believe the choice to become a mother in the choice to become one of the greatest spiritual teachers there is. To create an environment that’s stimulating and nurturing, to pass on a sense of responsibility to another human being, to raise a child who understands that he or she is create from good and is capable of anything—I know for sure that few callings are more honorable. To play down mothering as small is to crack the very foundation on which greatness stands.
“The world can only value mothering to the extent that women everywhere stand and declare that it must be so. In our hands we hold the power to transform the perception of motherhood….We should no longer allow a mother to be defined as ‘just a mom.’ It is on her back that great nations are built” (“What I Know for Sure,” O, The Oprah Magazine, 66, emphasis added).

In the Motherhood

I heard this on the radio the other day and it sounded kind of funny. Well it was advertised on my home page today. It's funny it's 3 ladies, (I dont' know there names, but they are actresses) and they take real stories people submit and they make little movies out of them. I watched a couple and they are funny because it's real life. If your interested it's In The Motherhood.

Ugh

So I have been a victim of comment spam.  So sorry but I've enabled word verification, which will help eliminate spam.  It said a lot of those spam links come from a software that just automatically does it, I didn't know that and now I understand that only a human can read the read not a software system.  Anyway a little interesting.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Philippe French Dipped Sandwiches

Just in case you wanted to know anything about the great place we went to eat, Philippe's, just click it. It's pretty interesting and great food if you get the chance to eat there.

Movie Stars in the making...

We had fun checking out if any of our hands fit the handprints, mine never even came close. But I don't Michael's looks pretty close to Will Smith's don't you think?

Thanks

Thanks for the all the sympahty with my sick child. You mom's know how it is. I'm glad she is better as. Now I'm on the way down. I hate being sick, and I hate being a sick mom. You don't get to crash on the couch and watch the Higgly Town Hero's all day. People still need to feed, diapers changed, clothes cleaned, etc....Sometimes I wish I could just crawl into bed without any disturbances. Although my sweet husband did tell me to go to bed an hour ago, the only problem is I'll wake up at 3 am wide awake for the day. I don't really want to do that. Oh speaking of bed, I guess I forgot to put my kids to bed, I hope Mark did it.

Bruises at McDonalds, and bunnies

Today we went to Mcdnalds with some friends well poor Drew was walking toward this chair, which is metal and has a lower metal bar. He Tripped just before he got there. He smacked his forhead on this lower bar, it gave him a really bad bruise, poor boy. It felt so bad. Oh as a side note he was so good on our little trip to LA, he never complained, unlike his siblings.

Oh and we met our friends today which happen to have bunnies and I can't believe I'm going to say this but she gave Michael a bunny. It's really cute. But I swore I would never get a bunny. I had one as a kid. It was a mess. Well we will see how it goes. So that was our weekend.

Visiting L.A.

So we went to L.A. it was a lot of fun, minus Taylor being sick (See previous post) We went to the Chinese theater and saw hand prints of the stars, including shirley temple, Tom Hanks, Will smith (whose was done in December 07), The harry Potter Gang, and several others, I'll attatch pictures later. That was my favorite, we also saw the kodak theatre, not the inside but it was still fun.

We also went to Venice beach, I don't think we need to go back there again. Probably not something the kids didn't need to see, from bad graphic t-shirts and saying, druggies, and crazies. the kids did all buy some fun sunglasses they where all about. That night we went to Billingsley's, it a local steak house it was ok. That's where Taylor feel asleep.

The Next Day we went to Olvera street, it's a little mexico street, it was busy the kids had a lot of fun buying stuff with the money Grandma Dedee gave them. They made out pretty good. We then went to his great place for lunch called Philipes it's a french dip sandwich shop it's been there for 100 years. Pretty cool and very good. i have Roast beef dipped, Mark had lamb. And they had really good patatoe salad. mmm....Good.

Later we stopped and a Richy Richy mall, since mark's grandma just lives about a mile from Beverly hills there is a lot rich people there. We went mainly to get this cute turtle that lights up at night a shines stars on the ceiling, it's pretty cool they sell it at bloomingdales. Grandma gave it for Michael's Birthday which is coming up. He loves it since he is now sleeping in his own bed this really helps make it a little easier.

So We drove home Late on Sunday night. It was a great break. Mark had to get back for some work stuff.

A Nice weekend away and a sick child

This weekend was presidents weekend. We went up to L.A. for a 2 day get away. It's funny because I was just complaining to my brother that we never go anywhere. We went and stayed with Mark's Grandma who lives basically in Santa Monica. It was a lot of fun. We even got to see Mark's mom for a day because she was in town.

We Left Friday night and arrived about 9 pm. The kids where great on the drive up and Drew slept and kept sleeping once he was settled in his port-a-crib. So in the middle of the night Taylor cough and gag's, and I smell throw up. I asked her if she was ok but she wasn't. She then proceded to flailing her body around because she was in so much pain. I was sleeping with her, I took her the kitchen to look for her to throw up into because she didn't want to do it in the toilet. she wouldn't calm down, it kind of scared me. I had to set her on the floor she continued to freak out. I gave her to mark who was asleep on the couch he calmed her for a little bit but than she couldn't keep still, I went into my room and prayed, and a few seconds later she threw up much to our relief and hers. She ended up throwing up 3 times that night. And that was the end of that. But the next day she didn't eat all day. And complained that her legs hurt. We weren't giving her much sympythy because she acted mostly normal. I felt bad by dinner she was so tired and falling asleep she had a low fever. We got her some motrin since I forgot it. She went to bed well, and woke up around 2:30 am hungry, she went to the bathroom twice which was a relief she hadn't gone all day. I gave her a banana, fishy crackers, and gatarade. By the next day she was much better, still not eating to much but a lot better.

So 3 days later she is doing better, slowly getting her appitite back. (sorry again spell check still not working)

Happy Valentines

You know I really have a great husband, just look at these flowers, I have never recieved such a beautiful bouque of roses from him before. And I counted there is 12 of them. I felt terrible all I got him was some leftover recess peanut butter hearts we used for Savannah's valentines. Normally we really don't do to much, so I wasn't expecting this. But it was a great pick me up, I had a rough start to the week. We went to dinner, I couldn't decide we ened up at D'Lish, it's ok not really "D'lish". Poor Mark wasn't feeling very good and he had a paper he had to finish but it was nice to get away, we even paid for a baby sitter, which the kids totllay loved. (Sorry if things are spelled wrong, spell check isn't working so it's not my fault)

Sigh of Relief...

Just in case you wanted to know I found my wallet. It was stuffed under a very large quilt in the closet. I know I didn't put it there, mmm...I have 3 hunches, (Michael wouldn't do it.)

Saturday

So to most people Saturday is a fun relaxing day, right time to spend with the family. Why do I dread it so much is it, "Hey kids time to clean today..." "Oh mom, why do we ALWAYS have to clean," as they throw themselves down on the ground whinning and complaining none stop.

Well I tried a different approach, hey kids lets make VAlentine cards, than we'll clean later. So for 3 hours we made valentine cards for Grandparents, what caios. I dont' know if we got 3 made for everyone or not. Oh well the thought it was counts.

Mark was gone early this morning golfing, which he isn't able to do too often. He went to Torrey Pines, a beautiful golf course where the US open will be this year. Around 11:30 he called and said he was almost done and what where we going to do today?

So we headed for the beach, it was in the upper 70's today. It was beautiful. The kids had a blast playing in the water, well the girls did. And Michael spent time looking for Sand Dollars. He was lucky enough to find a whole one, not too far from here we started. Drew didn't like the cold water, he made such a sad/scared cried any time it got his feet wet. It was pretty funny. OH and we played tether ball.

.

Now we are home, the house is a mess the laundry needs to be done, and I'm tired. Where's my maid service? Oh well I should be greatful we had a pretty good day

A mission Call

To those who know my family you'll appreciate this. My younger brother Blake just suprised us last night with a mission call. It has to be one of the happiest memories I will ever have. And those who know, know why. I couldn't be happier. You may ask "why are you suprised didn't you know he put in his papers?" Actually no I didn't, only my parents did. And maybe I should mention he is 22 years old, dating a beautiful girl named Ally. So yesterday my dad told our family he and Ally had an announcement to make at 9:30 pm so obvioulsy we thought he was going to announce his engagement. We would of been very happy for that announcment too, but this is even a little sweeter. Way to go Blake!!

What color am I?

So I went blog hopping and this is what I came across at someone's blog, who happened to have recently got married at the SLC temple. Kind of funny to run into a complete stranger who is a member of the same church. I don't know if this is true, if not we'll pretend.

Take this test!

You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!
